Discover the origin of the brilliant architecture of Blanca Arequipa by touring the amazing quarries.
Volcanic lava was used by our ancestors to turn it into blocks of ashlar and with it make buildings. Today, the quarries from which this material is extracted were also converted into a tourist circuit where the natural landscape is shown. You will be amazed by the carvings made by the villagers out of ashlar.

It is currently in operation, the stonemasons carry out their work very early; in the place we will be able to appreciate an immense canyon with cliffs (ignimbrite walls) that are several meters high, formed by the extraction for the formation of the Ashlars.
In this quarry you will be able to see a mega carving of the facade of the Church of the Society of Jesus made by the stonemasons themselves.
We can also visit the stonemasons to explain their daily work and experiment by cutting one of their stone blocks ourselves.
We will move to the Quebrada de Culebrillas, 30 minutes away from Añashuayco where we will take a walk of approximately 20 minutes inside the small canyon that was formed by the passage of water, with walls of 15 to 20 meters, we will observe petroglyphs made by the culture Wari.
