The city of Nazca is located at a 2 hours drive from Ica and is famous for its Nazca Lines which can be seen best by air. Nazca is home to the pre-Inca culture called Nazca which inhabited this region between 100 and 600 A.C. Although this culture did not flourish for a very long time, it did leave a very important cultural legacy.

Nazca also has various museums like Antonini where you can see archeological pieces of the ceremonial centre of Cahuachi. The collection consists of instruments and textiles. The Maria Reiche museum offers a view of her life which was fully dedicated to the study of the Nazca Lines. Furthermore you can visit the ateliers where ceramics are made and gold is being processed. The ceramics are being made the same way as the Nazca culture did centuries ago.
