The Hotel Cantayo Spa & Resort is located about 3 kilometers of the city of Nazca. The hotel has 40 rooms with telephone, internet connection only in executive rooms, air conditioning and minibar. The rooms have no television. The hotel has a library, lush gardens, a restaurant, swimming pool, spa, private heliport, small gift shop and offers some activities such as cycling.

We left the town of Nazca behind us and after about 10 minutes driving we arrive at an unpaved road which leads us to the hotel. It already gives us the feeling of going to a special place. We pass the famous aqueducts and arrive at the huge doors leading towards our hotel. After ringing the bell the wooden doors are opened and we get our first impressions of the hotel. It is actually a beautiful hacienda with huge windows letting all natural light coming in. Outside you can see the arches with the famous Spanish blue ceramics or known as azulejos. The reception is a very large area with a very friendly receptionist which explains us a bit of the history behind this hacienda and the hotel concept. The hacienda was previously in hands of the family De La Borda which had many lands in Nazca. Due to the agrarian reformation land was given back to the people working on it and the hacienda was practically abandoned, till an Italian couple bought it and after 2 years of hard working made this as one of the best hotels of the department of Ica.

Passing the reception you have a small library where you can sit, read and relax at one of the couches. The hotel has a beautiful 12 hectares garden. In the garden you can see the beautiful flowers, fruit trees, and the big Ficus tree which has almost 200 years. You can really enjoy walking on the property, feel the small breeze and really find peace and tranquility. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool surrounded by trees and an amazing mountain view. The hotel is all about relaxation, find peace and tranquility; do some fitness, massages etc. This concept of peace is being put into practice really well. There is no noise, no television and the only sounds come from the animals of their land. They have some alpacas, ostriches, horses, cows and peacocks. They are your natural wake-up call although they can call you as well to your room. Furthermore you can participate in the Pachamanca ceremony. The hotel offers bicycles and the area is big enough to do some jogging in the morning.

In the main building you can enjoy a drink at the bar or have a delicious biological meal in the restaurant. The majority of the food comes from own land. The rooms are really rustic with lots of wood, but nice and with all comfort like air conditioning. This hotel really is the perfect hideaway to relax, find tranquility, participate in health activities like yoga, special health diet, massages, ceremonies etc. You will feel completely new and reborn after your stay in this beautiful hacienda with a mixture of Spanish architecture and some modern and Buddhist elements.
